PRIVACY POLICY · AS OF OCTOBER 2026

Your data stays your data.

The website works without advertising tracking. Only with your consent do we load Google Ads to measure our advertising. You can change your choice in Privacy settings at any time. Here we explain processing when you visit or send us a request.

01

Who is responsible

The controller for data processing on this website is MAVENS GmbH, Gasstraße 12, 22761 Hamburg, Germany, represented by its managing director Mark Pohlmann. Questions about privacy: hamburg@mavens.de.

02

What happens when you visit

When you open the website, your browser sends technically necessary data to our server: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type and operating system. This data is stored in server logs to run the site securely and reliably and is deleted after 14 days at the latest. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operations (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Server logs are not used for advertising profiles.

03

Where the site runs

The website is operated on servers inside the European Union. If you consent to Google Ads, visit data may also be processed on Google servers outside the EU, including in the USA. More about Google’s international transfers: https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks?hl=en

04

Cookies and tracking

Fonts and website resources are loaded from our own server. We store your Google Ads choice and timestamp locally in your browser for up to 180 days to implement your decision. Before you consent or when you decline, we do not load the Google Ads tag or send consent pings to Google. Google Analytics is not installed; for visitor statistics we use Matomo on our own server, without cookies (see below). Change or withdraw your choice using Privacy settings in the footer. On withdrawal we remove Google Ads cookies accessible to the website and reload the page; the tag then stays off.

05

Visitor statistics with Matomo

For data-minimising visitor statistics we use the open-source software Matomo on our own server in the EU. No cookies are set and no data is passed to third parties. We record pages visited, time, origin (such as a search engine or an ad), browser and device type, and an IP address shortened by two bytes; we do not store ad-click identifiers. An explainer film starting and a successfully sent enquiry are counted as separate events, without any form contents. The purpose is to understand which pages and ads are helpful. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in data-minimising audience measurement (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Raw data is deleted after 180 days. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is recorded. You can object at any time directly below this section.

Your visits are recorded anonymously.
06

Google Ads with your consent

We use Google Ads tag AW-18487133102 to measure our advertising. For users in the EEA the provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. With consent we also report successfully submitted contact enquiries and appointment bookings as conversions with a random identifier, without sending names, email addresses or message contents to Google. After consent, Google may set cookies such as _gcl_au and _gcl_aw and process technical visit data, including IP address, browser and device information, the requested URL and ad-click identifiers. Personal data processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR); storage and access on your device on Section 25 (1) TDDDG. Our tag does not permit personalised advertising, and we do not send form contents as enhanced conversions. Google’s retention depends on the cookie and service; details: https://policies.google.com/technologies/cookies?hl=en and https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en. Withdrawal applies to future processing without affecting prior processing.

07

When you write to us

If you contact us by email or book an intro call, we process the details you give us (for example name, email address, company, your request) solely to handle your request and prepare a conversation. The legal basis is the initiation of a contract (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR) or our legitimate interest in answering requests ((f)). We do not pass this data to third parties without your consent and delete it once your request is settled and no statutory retention periods apply.

08

Your rights

You have the right to access the data we hold about you, and to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object at any time to processing based on our legitimate interest. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority; for us that is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

09

Changes

If the website or the legal situation changes, we adapt this policy. The version published here applies.
